During his visit to Chechnya, the Grand Imam was warmly received at the official and popular levels, as he was the first Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to visit Chechnya. He was received at the airport by the Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, a delegation of leaders and scholars, and the Chechen masses. His Eminence the Grand Imam met the Chechen President, and the two parties held talks on many issues of common concern. He also delivered a speech to the nation at the opening of Ahlu-s-Sunnah wal Jamāˤah Conference.As part of the visit's activities, the Grand Imam visited the Islamic University of Kunta-haji, and Khedi School for the memorization of the Qur'an.
